Week 46: Wave ... Yellowave
Now that I've signed up for the Castle to Castle bike ride - I need to get some training in, so I've started to cycle in to Brighton once a week. I also meet up with a friend of mine who wants to get fit and cycles in from the opposite direction for coffee and or lunch.
Yellowave Barefoot Cafe on the seafront in Brighton seemed to be a suitable meeting point at least for now. About 6 miles from home and a relatively easy ride along the undercliff, depending on the wind direction and strength.
Good coffee, great falafels - optional beach volleyball or just sit in the sun enjoying the view.

Week 21: Caffeine free October
No withdrawals and didn't miss it quite as much as I expected - just kept drinking the herbal teas instead and didn't even mind meetings with others enjoying their caffeine hit.
And then my first tea - with cake of course!
Please visit my Macmillan Justgiving page and sponsor me for the price of a latte (or a cuppa). Thank you. :)

Week 20: Working Through Cancer
Well, not something you get to do every day - I've just published my book up on Kindle. Out in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As I've mentioned previously, it's been a work in progress almost since I was diagnosed over a year ago and I hope it will help others going through something similar.
Available to download from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com. You can get it for free between 24th-28th October.

There's also the Working Through Cancer website to go with the book on which I'll be adding resources and blog posts.

Week 17-21: It's October - GoSober, Stoptober
As I neither smoke or really drink - going Sober in October didn't really fit the bill - instead I'm giving up caffeine!
So no tea, no coffee for a whole month - starting today. Now that's a much bigger ask ... I love the smell of coffee and enjoy a morning latte, although I rarely drink coffee after lunchtime but love an afternoon cuppa (with or without cake!)
I will still be available to meet for a variety of herbal teas (and if cake is involved - although in moderation!). :)
Good luck to everyone who has already signed up for Go Sober or Stoptober and if you'd like to either join me or donate to a very worthy cause just click ---> HERE

Week 16: Macmillan Coffee Morning x 2
Along with 1000s of others around the country - I was helping out and attending a Macmillan Coffee Morning. Organised by Janine Quinn and Debbie Stevens, we had coffee, cake and raffle prizes
We raised £287 on the day from the sale of tickets, raffle prizes and donations.
On Saturday morning I went round to friends for another coffee morning where they'd baked all the totally delicious and scrumptious cakes, biscuits and tray bakes and raised £150.
If you didn't get a chance to attend one on the day or over the weekend, you can donate to Macmillan - just click here.

Week 4: Race For Life Brighton
Six months ago, I couldn't run for 30 seconds never mind 30 minutes! Today I ran my first Race For Life, jogging round the 5k course in 38 minutes.
I will admit I did have to slow down and walk up most of the hill, which makes up the first 1k of the course up through the trees and along the edge of the path. The overnight rain, made it muddy and slippery, along with the hazards of tree roots and uneven paths.
In the last six months I've also managed to lose 11lbs. I have to admit to putting on quite a bit while going through treatment - that tends to happen when you don't exercise, spend too much time resting on the sofa, sleeping, watching TV and eating cake - or anything I felt like eating - especially when going through chemo!
It's not too late to donate on my justgiving page and help me raise even more money for research into cancer.
Don't forget if you're a UK taxpayer you can add Gift Aid and increase your donation by 25%.

Stop me and buy one!
Thank you to the wonderful ladies in the Seaford Cancer Research shop. I went in for a few Cancer Research pin badges and came out with a bag full of Breast Cancer Care pin badges that they can't sell in their shop.
I'll be out and about with them at various events to add to the fund-raising total.
Stop me and buy one - alternatively, you can visit my fundraising page on JustGiving.com! Thank you :)
